I’m a drummer for the fun of it, looking for kindred spirits to jam with in LA. I’d be down to play anything from folk rock to classic soul to your Most-Listened-To of ’25 list. Mine’s still in progress but I’m sure “Erase/Rewind” by The Cardigans will make the final cut, even though it’s not from this year. I dig the drums and echo on the vocals sooo much. Also “Apeman” by The Kinks, certainly not this year but it rings true now more than ever and I always love and admire the Kinks’ drumming.
To prove that I actually know a song from 2025, I will go with “Mutilation Springs” by Ryan Davis & the Roadhouse Band because of the line about Babe Ruth belting out “Danny Boy.” That, plus the repeated mentions of Spanish moss, make this The Song That I Would Write IF I Had Written It. Speaking of which, lately I’ve been reading Jeff Tweedy’s How to Write One Song and would be happy to mess around with original songs and also just jam in the keys of C and E and so forth.
If you’re up for emphasizing the play in playing music, give me a holler.
Inspiring.
